101 in 1001.

After reading Design Darling's list of 101 in 1001, I got inspired.
I got to thinking about things I wanted to see, do, eat, & accomplish by the time I was 25, which is roughly 1001 days away. And let me say, thinking about being 25 was kinda scary. So after much time thinking and seeking what my heart desires I finally accomplished my list.
I'm posting it here because I loved reading others, and hope this might inspire someone to go after what they really want. Plus it will keep my accountable to actually doing it.

High Five Friday

Oh wow, this week was AWESOME!
Literally, such a blessed week.
Lets do a little high-fiving
Monday- Roommate got into Vanderbilt Nursing school.
That makes 2 smarty pants roomies getting into their dream schools.
Also on Monday I got to reconnect with a dear friend & mentor.

This incredible woman is getting married!!
The Lord blessed me hugely, and now I get to celebrate with her and some other lovely ladies in Dallas. Eeek! I've never been to Dallas so I'm really excited about going.
Also this week, got two new little kiddos to teach swim lessons. One of which looks just like boo from Monsters Inc., so stinkin cute!
This weekend is our church's women's retreat. I'm really excited as some college girls are joining in and we get to know the ladies that much better.
Another high five, got an interview monday for my dream summer internship, so prayers/good thoughts pretty please if you will.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Loved you first, loved you always

Happy Thursday, or er Valentines Day! ;-)

Now I've always had mixed emotions about Valentines Day. I'm all about being super cheesy and romantic, but why on just one day of the shortest month of the year? Why not all the time? I also am a firm believer that today is for Hallmark economy boosting purposes. So there's that.
But this morning I had a clear eye opening moment. As many people I have in my life that love me, and some many wonderful things I'm involved in that I love, loving yourself is most important. Loving yourself first, loving yourself always.
As the King of Kings, Jesus loved us first, and the most.
Here is a snip from my devotional, Jesus Calling, from this morning that made me smile so wide.

"Give yourself FULLY to the adventure of today. Walk bodly along the path of Life, relying on your ever present Companion
...
Do not give in to fear or worry, those robbers of abundant living. Trust me enough to face problems as they come, rather than trying to anticipate them."

Could not have come at a better moment for me. I've spent all week super busy trying to anticipate what could go wrong, or being late for a meeting.

I just wanted to let you readers know, that He loves you the most, and thinks you're beautiful, so we should think of ourselves as beautiful too.

mid-day break

Got the Phillip Phillips cd this morning, my mood instantly increased upon listening.
I've come to find out I'm not fond of Tuesdays.
Needed two cups of coffee before 9:30 in order to function.
Job fair this afternoon, fingers crossed on landing an internship.
Teaching my kiddos this afternoon, and I'm beyond excited to hang out with them.
Einstein's garden herb turkey thin, is incredible!
Almost finished creating my 101 in 1001 list, send me ideas!!

Happy Mardi Gras y'all!

Thursday Brain Dump

Since it's been a while since I've updated this little here blog I figured why not do a little brain dump?

As of lately I've been kinda sorta all over the place. Every time I go to catch up with friends they always ask, "What have you been doing?!"...ah well yeah bout that. So here is what I've been up to since starting back at school.

1. Visited some safari animals.

Since we didn't have school on Martin Luther King day my friends & I decided we just had to get out of Knoxville and do something fun! School hadn't really slammed anyone yet so we had a full free day. We drove up the interstate a bit to visit Circle G Ranch. Upon entering you are literally swamped with wildlife. I'm talking llamas, cows, zebras, goats, bulls, everything! At one point there were animals literally inside the car and it was absolutely hilarious!

2. Bible study.
I've been attending a mass Bible study on Monday nights with other college students and been loving it! We go really deep into the word and maybe only cover a few verses at a time, but its fantastic. I'm actually learning the background story and context of all that we are covering and this makes the verses come so much more alive.

3. Snow day

There was a snow day somewhere in there. We actually had classes cancelled two Fridays in a row, and it was amazing! The first snow was a Thursday afternoon. My work ended up closing early & my boss had to take me home. I met up with some friends and enjoyed the evening watching the snow come down. The next time, well that was pretty much all ice and I stayed warm in my bed.

4. Ping pong.
Our group of friends has become obsessed with playing ping pong. We play all weekend every weekend. My game is really improving due to this.

watching the superbowl with the Colonel
5. And classes.
Last week I had my first round of exams and boy was it tough! Talk about no time for anyone or anything. I studied till I was blue in the face. But its all worth it because that just means summer is that much closer!! Ah, I'm beyond ready for summer, the lake, and some concerts!!

How is everyone's year going? Promise I'm reading, I just never get around to commenting.
