Valentine's Day

Valentine's day for me this year was awesome!! I started off the day with my 8 am cancelled, bonus, so I studied a little bit longer for my exam that I had today. And then I got to Facetime with my sweet Valentine before classes. Nothing like a little Facetime in the morning to get you going, even from long distances. During the day I got some exciting news, not ready to reveal yet so fingers crossed!!
Around 11:45 I received a text from an uknown number saying flowers were just delievered to the front desk of my apartment building for me. At first I thought it was a joke, but took the opportunity to take a break from studying. And lo and behold, a gorgie bouquet of flowers were waiting for moi!!

A sweet vase full of roses and lillies for his girl with the sweetest card. Yes, I did get a bit emotional. The whole gesture of finding a florist in my city, and then having flowers delivered just in time for Valentine's takes a lot of thought and effort and I couldn't have been happier. So sweet, especially with over 300 miles between us.
The rest of the day was filled with sweet texts, & emails. This has been one of the best Valentine's for me yet!
Last night I received my package from my parents. They are too precious. Just check out my mother's packaging!

She loves snoopy

Inside I was delighted to find some cute V-day pjs! And a giftcard for some beloved coffee of course. Yummm. Thanks Mom!!
I was absolutely just filled wtih love today and it was wonderful. Here's to you and yours having a splendid Valentine's!!

PINK Party

Hello lovelies!! Last night my friens and I had our first Pink party!! In celebration of Valentines Day we decided it would be great to have a bunch of us together, plus desert, and go see The Vow. It was such a fun night and the ladies made so many yummy sweets!

The home decor was just as darling as our sweets. The homeowner really knows how to decorate.
Heart shaped candles

love is in the air

Frank Sinatra was playing in the background, and we all just spent the evening chatting it up. I met some wonderful new girls and can't wait to see them again. After eating and chatting we headed off to see The Vow. Well apparently so did the rest of our student body, its a good thing I bought my ticket beforehand. I absolutely loved the movie and wish that it was only longer! I recommend this movie highly, but you might want to bring some tissues just in case! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and staying warm! No snow here, but it sure is cold! Brrrr!!

P.S. I have so many new wonderful followers, as soon as I reach 100 I'll be doing a giveaway to celebrate, so keep your eyes open ;-)

Birthday Weekend

Finally time to give y'all the update on the #birthdayweekend. If you follow along on twitter you probably have an idea already..

Friday-
I made a few stops to pick up some extra "goodies" and was on my way by noon! The weather was absolutely gorgeous and warm. We're talking the air conditioning was on, sunglasses, and some rockin tunes! I made it to the Burg around 3, and unloaded the car. The boy and I immediately headed to the J. Crew clearance store. Oh my goodness! If you've never been to a clearnace store let me explain. Its the exact same stuff sold in the stores in the mall (cashmeres, heels, leather bags) but at an extreme discount price! Not the same stuff in the outlets people, its the REAL good stuff. Needless to say I left with a darlking pink pencil skirt, which I wore yesterday to my nursing school interview, a cute little bracelet & we also picked up the birthday boy some early pressies. I love shopping for my man, well I just love shopping actually.

New skirt!

After shopping we headed downtown for some Mexicana! The restaurant was super charming and had cute little lights on the patio. (Note to self, really need a quality camera for this type of stuff)  After dinner I knew it was time to head to the surprise party. After a few mishaps, ahem we don't know how to work a gps, we made it! The boy was so surprised!! He loved it and so did I. We enjoyed cake and ice cream, and some board games with his sweet friends. Whom I adore, and miss them now that I'm back in Tennessee.

surprise!!!
The night was so much fun and couldn't have gone any better. We enjoyed ourselves hanging out with friends, and I liked getting to know his friends.

Saturday- Birthday day!! We got up and headed to Panera for some breakfast. I just love their little souffles, so yummy! After breakfast we went back to a friend's house to hang out and watch a little of Jumper before meeting up with some other friends later.  I have to finish this movie,so good! We met our friends for lunch and its always so good to see this couple. We just love to sit & talk for hours and hours. After lunch it was time for us to  go see The Woman in Black. I previously saw the play in London back in 2006. I enjoyed the play so much I knew the movie had to be a hit. Well I was thoroughly scared and watched the entire movie through my fingers. Good thing I have such a gentleman for a boyfriend who watched the movie and caught me up on the scary parts. Now it was time for us to head to our fancy dinner. After a quick wardrobe change we were headed back downtown.

We dined at Robin Alexander's and it was deeelicious! I had grilled chicken topped with sun dried tomatoes, cheese, along with all sorts of veggies!

We then explored the neighborhood in search for some cappuccinos. Luckily there was this darling hotel and restaurant right around the corner. We had our desert cappuccinos at The Shoemaker's Grille, which I can not wait to try out the next time I'm in the area. We finished the night with some quality snuggle time together. Nothing like snuggling up on the couch to watch a movie with my man.

Sunday- We attended church at Thomas Baptist Roads Church. On this particular Sunday the men and women were separated for services. (We didn't know this so imagine our faces when we realized that only women were in the room) The speaker was Angela Thomas, and I loved her! Not only was she super fun, but real. I really took the message to heart and haven been using it every day since. I'm looking forward to searching for more messages by her. Sadly I had to leave Sunday so I could spend the super bowl with my family at home, but I'm so happy that I got to be there for my man's birthday. The weekend overall was simply magical as always. Ok, I'm done now. hehe. Hope you're having a wonderful Thursday, its freezing here. brrrr!

Top 5 Most Worn

Today I'm linking up again with Just Peachy for the top 5 most worn items. I really had to narrow it down to pick out my items but here they are!

1. I love J. Crew matchstick jeans. They fit oh so just right and I can tuck them into boots, cuff them, or wear them as they are. These jeans can make an outfit dressy or relaxed. I love that I always look put together in them and they don't stretch throughout the day. I hate having to pull up my jeans after sitting in a 3+ hour lecture.

2. My Lilly planner. This is the first year I've had a Lilly planner and can I just say that I love it! There are so many fun stickers and illustrations throughout it that my day is instantly brighter. Without my planner I'd be a wreck. I love seeing everything laid out, so the month and week view help me think straight.

3. My eos lip balm in summer fruit. I first tried out eos last spring because I loved the egg shape for Easter. ha! Lo and behold my favorite chap stick. I refuse to use anything else. Burt's bees makes my lips more chapped, weird I know, and soft lips doesn't last quite as long.

4. My "this is the year to" Kate Spade bangle. This was a Christmas gift from my man, and oh la la I love to wear it. Not a day goes by that someone asks me about it, plus my man loves when I get to show off my gifts from him, so cute ;-)

5. Last, my Lands end monogrammed tote. ( The monogram in the picture is not mine) I have mine in navy as shown but with a crisp hot pink monogram. I carry this thing everywhere! To work, to class, and on overnight trips. It holds all that I need. My planner, lip balm, hand sanitizers, pens, literally everything goes in this! I got this as a birthday gift this past summer and I'm thinking a new one will be needed to add to the collection ;)

Make sure you hop on over and check out Rachel's blog. There are so many lovely ladies linking up .
xoxo

P.S. A post to come on my man's #birthdayweekend extravaganza!

Community Group

Last Sunday night we kicked off our new semester of community groups. I lead with a sweet girl Brooke. We have named our community group S.N.F for Sunday Night Fellowship. Unlike most community groups at our church we don't like going by a book. We prefer to dive into the Bible and talk about it, rather than assigning "homework" each week and readings. As a college gal extra readings and work is the last thing I want to do, and I assume the same for most girls. Therefor our group focuses on the fellowship part of our community group. This semester we are diving deep into Esther. With new themese for each week we are going to learn and grow together. This past week we spent time getting to know one another as we have some new members. We eacher shared our testimonies and what our story is. One of the new girl's, who I met back on our Tuscaloosa trip in the fall, testimonies rocked my world. Her story is so brave and courageous and all about faith. From the moment she graduated high school till now she has been out on a limb just having faith. This was so power ful for me, yes I cried. It just really shows that you don't need to be stable and older to have faith or be radical. God calls us NOW, not when were 30 and know what we are doing with our lives. I want to encourage everyone this week to have that faith. I know you can do it! Also, why not ask someone what their story is. Doesn't have to be their "testimony" per say, but everyone has their own unique story on why they are the person they are.
